Libby Hewitt is the Virginia Program Specialist with the Alliance for Advancing Climate-Smart Agriculture, where she leads Virginia’s producer outreach, provides technical assistance on conservation practices, and supports participants through the application and enrollment process. She focuses on building strong relationships with producers and translating climate-smart approaches into practical, workable solutions for real-world operations.

Libby brings more than 15 years of experience in forage and agricultural systems, with a background spanning forage, cover crops, field crops, and soil fertility—from procurement through market delivery. Her private-sector experience gives her a well-rounded perspective and a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing today’s producers. She currently serves as Vice President of the Virginia Forage and Grassland Council.

She holds a B.S. in Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences and an M.S. in Forages and Soil Fertility from Virginia Tech. Libby lives in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley with her husband and their three daughters, where they operate a cattle operation focused on conservation and long-term land stewardship.
