Shannon Ellis

Project Assistant

Shannon received her bachelor’s (Ag Education/minor in Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences) and master’s degrees from Virginia Tech.  She taught high school agriculture and served on the faculty in the VT Agricultural and Extension Education department.  After this, she spent time in marketing and communications at Southern States Cooperative and then as the executive director of the Virginia Soybean Association.  Prior to joining the Alliance to Advance Climate-Smart Agriculture team, she was a project coordinator for the Grasslands Partnership PCSC grant through Virginia Tech’s School of Plant and Environmental Sciences.

Shannon lives and farms with her family near Tappahannock, Virginia.  She is involved in serving the agricultural community through numerous organizations including the United Soybean Board, Virginia Corn Checkoff Board, NRCS State Technical Committee, Animal Nutrition Working Group, EVAREC advisory board, and others.
